Green Family Reunion

My MIL's family is a tight-knit, fun loving group. To celebrate Cedric's Great Grandma Pearl's 80th birthday, they surprised her with a family reunion, location: the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. We rented a cabin big enough to hold eight families (including 6 kids) in Townsend, TN. We had a great time! Peter and Stephanie rented a van so that both their family and ours could make the 8 hour drive together. Cedric and Eden ("Eddie" as Cedric says) really hit it off. It made my heart melt to see the two of them so interested and enlivened by each other.

The park itself is very nice - the perfect blend of wildness and accesability. We hiked several trails and took a few scenic drives but when Zach and Peter were ready to forge their own trail and be adventurers, the park offered plenty of opprotunity. We did not see any bears, but some other family members did. The park has a very interesting history, which you can read about here. Cedric's Grandpa taught him new words for water such as rain and river. His interest in specific words for things is high right now. He also started saying phrases like "all done" and "all gone." But I know what you really want to see are pictures, so without further ado here are some of my favorites.
